Carpooling to the party - Inauguration Day

Whether you're traveling east for tomorrow's inauguration or watching from the comfort of your living room, there's sure to be excitement. One new company is taking advantage of the occasion with the launch of Obama Inauguration Ride Share.

In an effort to cut carbon emissions, TripVerde has posed an economical and eco solution for travelers. Carpool. TripVerde is a national ride-sharing service that matches drivers and riders online and handles the hassle of money exchange over the web too. You can use their free ride calculator to see how much you'll dish out for distance.

TripVerdes' goal? To make every car a source of personal income (I like it) and reduce overall vehicle miles traveled by 10 percent within 10 years. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

According to the site, carpools are currently forming in over 50 U.S. cities. For more info, visit http://www.tripverde.com/.
