Bardessono Hotel in Calif. now offers eco-minded EV and hybrid options

  • LEED Platinum and luxe hotel Bardessono in Calif., now offers plug-in-ability for EV drivers and hybrid shuttle options. The property has teamed up with Tesla and Lexus to transport guests in ultra chic fashion.
  • Slated to open in 2012, Dallas' brand, spankin' new Omni Hotel is aiming for LEED Silver certification and is using recycled and regionally sourced materials during the current construction process. Also in the works is farm-to-table dining via planned restaurant Texas Spice.
  • Going green is "more feminine than masculine," according to participants in Ogilvy Earth's new study. That's why you're more likely to see ladies toting reusable grocery bags and bottles, says the study, citing 82% of respondent's views.
  • Costa Rica's Parador Resort & Spa, a destination situated within 12 acres of tropical rainforest, is offering its Eco-Friendly Package through December of this year. It includes horseback riding, a mangrove boat excursion and walking tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, plus six nights' accommodations, starting at $283 per night.
